The damselflies include 16 Norwegian species. Norwegian damselflies are small, slender odonates with varying color patterns. The males of many species are pale blue with black markings.

The dragonflies include 36 Norwegian species. The species vary in wing span from 43 to 110 mm, and the largest species are thus among the largest insects in Norway.
