Download the 2006 Norwegian Red List

The 2006 Norwegian Red List is the official survey of threatened or near threatened species in Norway, prepared by the Norwegian Biodiversity Information Centre in collaboration with 23 expert comities from scientific institutions. The Red List includes species in mainland Norway, in Norwegian waters and on the arctic island group Svalbard.

The evaluations in the 2006 Norwegian Red List are based on guidelines from the International Union for the Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources (IUCN). In the process of making the Red List 18 500 species have been evaluated. Of these 3886 have been included in the Red List. A total number of 1988 species is categorised as threatened.

The Red List is bilingual (Norwegian and English)
